STREETS
Piccadilly
Although ambiguous the history can be, Piccadilly started as a road called Portugal Street, then took the name from Piccadilly Hall which was owned by a tailor who was selling Piccadills: a type of collar fashionable in the 17th century.
It is a part of road A4 which runs from heart of London through the west and to Heathrow Airport. Many recognisable names can be associated with this one of the most famous street: St James’s Church, Royal Academy of Arts, Geological Society of London, Fortnum & Mason, Green Park, and The Ritz, to name a few.
